Remembrance
For many survivors remembrance and acknowledgement are very important and can help people deal with the loss of a loved one. Here at Survivors of Trauma we acknowledge the loss of all those families bereaved with our annual candlelight remembrance evening. It is a time for families to come together and share in both remembrance of the loss of a loved one and in acknowledgement to all those people who suffered loss as a consequence of the ‘Troubles’.
Our memorial area of reflection can be visited by individuals who wish to spend some quiet time and reflect or simply light a candle. The ‘tree of remembrance’ quilt was designed and made by a group of local women, the leaves of the tree are embroidered with the names of those who lost their lives in north Belfast.
